Event Location: Beach at the front of the Sea Zoo.
Meet up in the Sea Zoo carpark and walk to the beach.
Event Time: 9:45-11:00am
Meet up in the Sea Zoo car park and we will all head down to the beach together. The beach clean will commence for one hour. Once finished we will head back to the Sea Zoo for refreshments. A gazebo will be present outside to display the beach rubbish collected. Here you shall have the opportunity to come discuss any questions you may have about plastics or current impacts the ocean is facing.
All equipment shall be provided by the Sea Zoo. Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear for walking on the beach.

Aloha! I’m Kendra Nelson and I will be hosting the cleanup at Kahana Bay. I attended BYU Hawaii in Laie. I have sifters and other materials I will bring. We will pick up plastic for the few hours and get to know each other better. We will also use some of the microplastics to make awareness art!

The clean up will be taking place on a beach closer to an informal settlement of Cape town. This is the first time we will attempt to clean this beach. Local organizing like nine mile project are looking to bring kids from the area too assist in the clean and help educate them about why we should be doing clean ups and why reducing our plastic waste should be important.

Hey everyone! I’m Madyson Miller the GOS Ambassador Project Coordinators and I will be hosting the cleanup on Pensacola Beach Park West for World Ocean Day. I am a graduate from UWF with a degree in Marine Biology. All clean-up materials will be provided thanks to Keeping Pensacola Beautiful! We will also hopefully have some other tools (sifters, buckets, nets, and binoculars) to do some education of microplastics and marine organisms like coastal shorebirds, sea-turtles, and microorganisms! Pizza will also be provided!!
