Highlighting the voices and research of Women in Ocean Science.

We are proud to announce our partnership with Integrative and Comparative Biology (ICB) to develop a special issue that celebrates and elevates the contributions of women working across marine disciplines.

This collaboration brings together Women in Ocean Science’s mission to amplify underrepresented voices and ICB’s legacy of publishing impactful research. The special issue will feature original research, reviews, and perspective pieces from women scientists working across fields like marine biology, ecology, oceanography, conservation, and more.

Why this matters:
Historically, women’s contributions to ocean science have often been under-acknowledged. This partnership directly challenges that by providing a prestigious publishing platform to spotlight the talent, knowledge, and leadership of women in the field.

Why We Partnered with ICB:

At Women in Ocean Science, we’re committed to breaking down barriers and amplifying the voices of women in ocean science. That’s why we partnered with Integrative and Comparative Biology (ICB) — one of the most respected and widely cited journals in biology.

As the official journal of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB), ICB is dedicated to publishing high-impact, peer-reviewed articles that bring together diverse disciplines and showcase cutting-edge science. Together, we’re creating space for women’s perspectives in academic publishing while exploring ways to expand journal access and professional development opportunities for our global community.
