Women in Ocean Science is proud to be present at this yearโ€™s UN Ocean Conference (UNOC), amplifying the voices of women in science, storytelling, and community-led conservation. As a global platform for bold ocean action, UNOC brings together governments, researchers, indigenous leaders, and civil society to accelerate progress on SDG 14. Weโ€™re here to represent the power of women in ocean spaces - from local communities to high-level policy roomsโ€”and to spark inclusive conversations about the future of our ocean.     Join us for a powerful afternoon of film and conversation, celebrating the women shaping our ocean future. Weโ€™ll showcase a curated selection of short films created by or about women in marine science, conservation, and coastal communities - followed by a panel featuring Madeline St Clair and Tamsin Raine, diving into gender equity, resilience and the role of storytelling in ocean advocacy.

  • 12th June - Beach Clean with Kinfill

    In partnership with Kinfill and Ocean Culture Life, this early evening event invites everyone to give back to the sea. Together weโ€™ll do a beach clean and after, raise a glass by the waterโ€™s edge to celebrate collective action. Expect laughter, community, and salt air and a chance to decompress from the conference!

    This panel highlights the vital role of women in coral reef restoration across the Indo-Pacific. From dive training and ecological monitoring to traditional stewardship and local leadership, weโ€™ll explore how gender equity fuels ecosystem resilience.

    Hosted by Women in Ocean Science in collaboration with the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), this event forms part of the #ForCoral programme within the official Coral Reef Pavilion.
